MR. RICHARD DOYLE WEST, age 71, of LaFayette passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2017.

Survived by loving wife of 48 years, Thelma Mae Snider West of LaFayette; daughters, Tammy West of LaFayette, Barbara Davis of Summerville and Joaine King of Chatsworth; son, Charles West of Lyerly; sisters, Ann Wallin of Alabama, Carolyn Brown of Ringgold, and Evelyn Meranda of Florida; 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral from the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel Monday, January 30, at 1 p.m.

Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1 p.m. – 9 p.m.

JASPER EDWARD HARRIS, age 53, of Ringgold passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Harris and Esther Irene Tucker Harris.

Survivors are his daughter, Amber Wiltgen of Portland, Oregon; brothers, Charles Allen (Debra) Harris of Rossville, GA, Jerry (Kathy) Harris of Chickamauga, David Harris of Ringgold, and William (Joni) Harris of Virginia; sister, Debra (Steve) Heatherly of Ringgold; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel Sunday, January 29, at
2 p.m. with Tim Padgett and Mike Epps officiating.

Interment will take place in the Chattanooga National Cemetery Tuesday, January 31 at 12:30 p.m.

Visitation at the funeral home Saturday from 3 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. until time of service.

ESTHER IRENE HARRIS, age 81, of LaFayette passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Harris; son, Jasper Harris; parents, David Ralph Tucker and Annie Mae Pope; and sister, Linda Gray Hardin.

Survivors are her daughter, Debra (Steve) Heatherly of Ringgold; sons, Charles Allen (Debra) Harris of Rossville, Jerry (Kathy) Harris of Chickamauga, David Harris of Ringgold, William (Joni) Harris of Virginia; brother, Ralph “Sonny” (Bobbi Jean) Tucker of N.C.; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

DAVID EDWARD LEE, age 67, of LaFayette passed away Monday, January 30, 2017. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and was of the Baptist faith. David’s working career included the textile industry and Auto Custom Carpets Inc.

He was preceded in death by his son, Roger T. Lee, and father, Rev. Thomas E. Lee.

Survivors are his loving wife of 48 years Carolyn Ann Ramey Lee of LaFayette; daughter, Cyndi Walker of Chickamauga; mother, Dorothy Alexander Lee; sister, Gloria (Ralph) Russ, Barbara (Richard) Hall and Karen (Alan) Graham; brother, Johnny Lee (Wanda Cooper) all of LaFayette; grandchildren, Lindsey (Matt) Swinson, Jonathan Caleb Lee and Mason Walker; and several nieces and nephews.

RICHARD “RICKY” LEE BARTON, age 63, of Rock Spring passed away Monday, January 30, 2017. He was a graduate of LaFayette High School, Class of 1972. Ricky was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from TVA with 32 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Emily Faith Barton; and grandparents, Jesse and Velma Brown.

Survivors are his loving wife of 39 years, Sherri Wilson Barton of Rock Spring; daughters, Blakely (Kurt) Davenport of Ringgold and Kyley Barton of Rock Spring; son, B.J. FRANKIE “FRANK”  RAY CAGLE, age 85, of LaFayette passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Cagle and Virgie Gilreath Cagle; and brothers, T.D. Cagle and Hewitt Cagle.

Survivors are his loving wife of 67 years, Elizabeth Cagle; sons, Jeff (Debbie) Cagle of Rock Spring and Dennis (Claudia) Cagle of LaFayette; grandchildren, Zach (Miranda) Cagle, Katie (David) Mitchell, and Samantha Cagle; great grandchildren, Jason Cagle, Addy Cagle, Benjamin Mitchell, and Nicholas Mitchell; and several nieces and nephews.

REV.  GERALD W. GARMANY, age 80, of LaFayette passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017.

Gerald was a member and deacon of Barrett’s Chapel, which is now Lords Way Tabernacle since 1979.  He worked in maintenance for E.T. Barwick Mill in LaFayette and at Concet Industries in Dalton. Gerald also worked  at Crystal Springs Bleachery Company in Chickamauga until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Jordan Garmany; daughters, Connie Ezell and Wanda Willingham; father, Woodrow Garmany; mother, Juanita Chaney Edwards; and half-brothers, Charles Edwards and Gary Don Garmany.

Survivors are his son, Doyle (Angie) Garmany of LaFayette; brother, Donald (Katherine) Garmany; half- sisters, Betty (Dewey) Lowrance of Summerville, Linda Adams of Chattanooga, Katherine Davis and Edna Graze both of Detroit, MI, and Gloria Jean Craig of Marietta; half-brother, Melvin Edwards both of Chickamauga, and W.O. Garmany of Decatur, Ala; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

BOBBY RAY MILLSAPS, 50, of Rock Springs, Georgia was called home unexpectedly Friday, February 10, 2017. Bobby was a loving son, father, brother, uncle, papa, and friend. Bobby loved playing the guitar and writing and playing music. He loved fishing and just spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by many.

He is survived by his parents Wayne and Elizabeth Millsaps, Sr. of Rock Springs, seven children, Justin Millsaps of Pikeville, TN, Joshua (Krissy) Millsaps of Dayton, TN, Matthew (Mallory) Millsaps, Shane (Rachel) Millsaps all of Fort Oglethorpe, Tiffany Barrett, Shauna Barrett (Nick Clark) all of Dayton, TN, and Erin Stephens of Rossville; four brothers, Wayne (Kim) Millsaps, Jr. of Trion, Randy (Michelle) Millsaps, Mike (Candy) Millsaps all of Rock Springs, and Junior Lowe of Cleveland, TN; one sister, Melissa Millsaps Brown of Rock Springs; 13 grandchildren, Brier, Brantley, Dakotah, Aaron, Michaela, Bailie, Brantley, Logan, Easton, Zoey, Hunter, Zayley, and Braelyn; and several nieces and nephews.

February 12, 2017. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Lee Yother Whitten; parents, Zim Whitten, Sr. and Maybelle Whitten; sister, Leathon Johnson; and brothers, Woody Whitten, Claude Whitten, Hubert Whitten, and Earl Whitten.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Carrington; son, Ricky Carrington; great granddaughter, Carmyn Piper Carrington; sisters, Montyne Wallace and Syble Parker Corriher; brothers, Winford Wallace and Ben Wallace; and son-in-law, Eddie Steele.

Derek was a member of Trinity Gospel Tabernacle of Noble and was employed with Syntec Industries in LaFayette for 23 years.

Preceded in death by his mothers, Betty Painter Fills and Beatrice Akins; grandmother, Granny Leatha Painter; and half-brother, David Fills.

SHIRLEY ODUM HARRIS, age 81, of LaFayette passed away Friday, February 24, 2017. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Shirley worked for Salem Carpet for 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her son, Gary Wayne Harris; parents, Chester Odum and Alice Richardson Odum; sister, Christine Spears; and brother, Jimmy Odum.

Survivors are her loving husband of 67 years, Howard Harris; daughter, Tammy (Jerry) Hamilton; sons, Barry (Janice) Harris and Malcolm (Ann) Harris all of LaFayette; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 26 at 3 p.m. in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastor William Harris and Pastor David Pettyjohn officiating.

Interment to follow in the LaFayette Cemetery with Pastor W. C. Pence officiating.

Pallbearers are Rusty Harris, Rocky Hamilton, Scott Hamilton, Neil Harris, Ace Bailey, and Wendell Hamilton.

Honorary pallbearers are Michael Hamilton, Justin Manis, Preston Harris, Chase Bailey, Austin Bailey, Brent Ingram, and Eric Murphy.

Visitation at the funeral home Saturday from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.

Arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
